BREATH MEDITATION TO STRENGTHEN THE MIND & INMUNE SYSTEM
Sit in a cross-legged position and bend the left arm at the elbow, bringing the left palm to the shoulder level with the hand in Surya mudra (thumb and ring finger touching). Then bend the right arm at the elbow and make a fist with the hand except keep the index finger pointing straight up and gently close the right nostril with it.
Do breath of fire* through the left nostril. The rhythm is fast and you can mentally chant the mantra SAT NAM, WHA HE GURU *, or 3 beats per second. Make sure you really pump the navel!
To end: Clasp the hands in Venus Lock and place them in front of the face. Then inhale and try to pull the hands apart, resisting as much as possible. Create tension. Then exhale and repeat three more times.
Time: There was no time specified in this meditation. You can start with 3 minutes and built it up from there to 7, 11, 22, 31, or 62 minutes. Check the meditation section to learn about times and effects of meditations.
What Yogi Bhajan said about this meditation:
“To be healthy, we must have moral and mental strength. If we don’t have moral strength, we don’t have mental strength. We are born with inherited strength which is equal to the power of God. Our projected strength is created or blocked by ourselves, usually with anger, self-defeat, and blame. To have strong projected strength, we must consciously work out what we use to block it. Our psyche and energy centers have to be adjusted by us.”
*SAT NAM, WHA HE GURU
SAT means truth
NAM means name or identity
WHA HE is an expression of exclamation
GURU GU means DARK, and RU means light. Together they mean “who takes you from darkness to light”
*BREATH OF FIRE

You are not supposed to do Breath of Fire during the first three days of your period or if you are pregnant. Instead you can do it with long deep breathing.
